And of course there’s a layer of pollen on it already, plus it just started raining.
Used both my favorite waterless wash products

All of my cars have been getting pollen worse than that in like... 4 hours? I hate it.

I’m not even bothering washing the cars right now. Just wiping bird poop off as it happens.

I’ve given up driving the C5 for at least another week or two. I wash it, and the black paint looks vaguely yellow just one day later. Just threw the cover on it and yelled at Spring for getting sprung.
Pollen is a bummer.

I’m not going to even try to keep mine clean as it’s just going to get dirty again in about an hour.

I do this because it is relaxing, and gives me a mild cardio workout.

A well-detailed black car looks amazing...for the 10 minutes it’s clean.

Mine is silver. It has lots of flake and hides dirt well

You’re playing the game on easy mode, buddy. My E90 before this was as silver as silver could be. Best color if you wan’t to skimp on detailing but so difficult to make it really shine.

It’s worth the effort, black cars do look good.

It’s really rewarding to stand back and look at that deep glossy black shine after a couple of hours of work. Although I’ll be honest I don’t dabble in Rotaries/Dual action polishing and that kind of stuff because:
1. It’s a daily driver. Swirls and scratches are going to part of it
2. I think once you get into that level it starts becoming very expensive and time consuming IMO
I typically do a weekly waterlesss wash and a quarterly wash->clay->Sealant-> let it cure->Carnuba wax the next day. Interior clean every month and full leather clean and condition once every 6 months.

I have never heard of this waterless wash of which you speak. I will have to research.

Remember, technique>product. Any good branded waterless wash will do. You have to be careful and use lots of good quality microfiber else you’ll end up putting a lot of scratches.
You can also try rinse-less washing with the Optimum products. They work great for both.

This a colleagues car. It gets washed once a month or every other month. Degreaser, rinse, snow foam, rinse wash, 2BM wash, rinse, dry. Today was pressure rinse (all the dirt dropped off), snow foamed shampoo sealant on, pressure rinsed then dried. No swirls, scratches or scuffs. Gets used daily and covers a lot of miles.
I also like it when it rains as I can watch the water bead off.

It’s the opposite of relaxing for me, at least on the exterior. It always feel just plain tedious. I do like cleaning the inside, though, and when the pollen starts to interfere with my sight I do clean the glass very thoroughly. But I usually have the washing itself done by a professional.

It is actually pretty shiny, especially considering it’s 20 year old Toyota paint.
